Saturday start for UK MEGA Express promotion

Mega Brands who create the Thomas & Friends MEGA BLOKS merchandising series are to giveaway some of their toys in the Daily Express and Sunday Express newspapers.

The deal will allow readers and Thomas fans to collect four out of six of the characters chosen for the giveaway.
James the Red Engine, Gordon the Big Express Engine, Harold the Helicopter, Thomas the Tank Engine, Bertie the Bus and Percy the Small Engine are the characters taking part in the promotion.

The promotion starts this Saturday and every day onwards until Tuesday July 19th with newspapers available in shops nationwide while a TV campaign will accompany the offer.

Thanks to ThomasPercyandToby2 for the alert.

  1. Pah! It's just a "Sprat to catch a Mackeral" is what my Gran said when I told her. This means that you throw something small to catch a big fish. In this case, Daily Express and Sunday Express are trying to give away only the Thomas ENGINES which would be a small price in the shops but you would be spending alot more on the papers to get ONE engine! So it is almost a rip-off in a sense.
I hope I have made sense!

  2. I don't agree with your statement Jamie. Mega Bloks engines are about £4 each, whereas a paper costs 50p. So you pay £2 for 4 engines instead of £16, which is a saving of £14. I think it's worth it.

  3. Ohhhhhh...I understand now Richie! Ofcourse, when I typed my statement, I had NO idea that a Thomas Mega Bloks Engine cost £4! I thought it would cost cheaper than that! My view on my previous statement has officially changed. Talking about the Thomas Mega Bloks Trains, I'm actually considering to buy one of the sets from the brand. It's called the "Working Hard At The Sodor Steamworks" and it loooks so cool! What I find extraordinary about these Thomas Mega Bloks sets is that you can rebuild it into any structure you want and not just building exactly what it looks like on the box.
    Until next time...
