'King of the Railway: The Movie' trailer debuts online

The long-awaited first trailer of King of the Railway: The Movie has been leaked online.

The minute long teaser narrated by veteran of voice Gary Martin sees old favourites Thomas, James, Percy, The Fat Controller and The Troublesome Trucks in action with Spencer, Captain and Harold also appearing.

Knapford Station, The Docks, The Steamworks and the Search and Rescue Center feature as the returning locations.

The first female narrow gauge engine Millie is one of the new faces seen along with Stephen the Rocket and Sir Robert Norramby, The Earl of Sodor.

The UK teaser also offers the first glimpse of Arc Productions' CGI, using the same style as predecessors Nitrogen Studios.

However the animation has been met with a frosty reception on YouTube with some branding it awful and cheap, despite the original source clip only being viewable in low quality.

Ben Small and Keith Wickham are joined by new voice actors while Andrew Brenner makes his debut as Head Writer.

King of the Railway: The Movie premieres in the UK and US this September.

  1. I think the animation is OK, but it looks unfinished in some parts and the quality is from the low quality video. Andrew Brenner seems to be doing his homework with the name of the person, Robert Norramby and some lines actually felt like something out of the classic series.

However, I'm awaiting September 2013 to see the whole movie so we better wait and see how it turned out.

  2. I think the movie looks very promising. The animation isn't too good. I agree with everyone saying it looks unfinished. Spencer looks great, but something looks wrong with the others. Their mouths don't seem to be moving properly either.

I'm so pleased to see that the Troublesome Trucks are causing trouble again. Seems like they have a somewhat important part of the plot.

Stephen and Millie look fanatstic. Can't wait to see Caitlin and Connor, and Jack and the Pack in CGI.

If there's another trailer coming, I hope things have changed with the animation.

  3. Decent. The only difference I notice with animation is that the engines are shinier for some odd reason. Also, Thomas seems to have a new voice?

Can't wait to see it when it comes out!

  4. it's now the animation that urks me..... it's lacking a good story like seasons 1-7 that turn me off from new Thomas
