Two voice actors join 'Thomas & Friends' 2012

The SiF team have announced that two voice actors have joined Thomas & Friends for it's 2012 year.

With Rupert Degas successfully enchanting fans with his Dart, Butch, Bertie and Flynn voices, another two males are following up.
The current voice of Fireman Sam, Steven Kynman is confirmed to provide his talents to the returning Peter Sam and Paxton, who shall finally speak.

Kynman just like Keith Wickham, has appeared in The Mr. Men Show, playing the part of Mr. Nosey.

Meanwhile, new character Luke is to be given the vocal treatment from Northern Ireland actor, Michael Legge who appeared as Tom O' Leary in episodes of Shameless during it's Fourth to Sixth Series.

Both Peter Sam and Luke are due to appear in the Blue Mountain Mystery special later this fall.

  1. I didn't think someone from a show like Shameless would be chosen to be a Thomas and Friends voice actor. It'll be interesting to see how he does. Steve Kynman was a great choice. I think he'll do very well as Peter Sam, especially if he's given a Welsh voice. Dunno about Paxton though, I only really see him as a marketing tool...

    1. Regarding Legge appearing in Shameless - a few of the existing cast have had equally colourful careers outside of Thomas. Michael Brandon was in the rather controversial Jerry Springer musical and David Badella appeared in The Rocky Horror Show for a while.

I'm looking forward to hearing Steve Kynman as well. He did well with Fireman Sam, managing to sound a bit more youthful and friendly than the previous voice actor. Ironically, CGI Sam seems to have the opposite problem to Thomas - decent writing (mostly from Andrew Brenner. Hopefully a good sign!) but mediocre animation.

  3. The entire show is a marketing tool, get over it.

    1. I think someone keeps getting their knickers in a twist if you constantly have a problem with someone who has an OPINION. Seriously, if you don't like my opinions, don't bother reading what I type! It's not difficult...

    2. I'm allowed to whine over your stupid opinions. None of you know what a marketing tool is. In order for a character to be a marketing tool...surprise, surprise, it has to be marketed. If you people would stop acting like five year old over a show that isn't even that good, you wouldn't constantly be getting angry over the dumbest stuff. Flying Kipper is the best episode of the show? Please tell me what exactly even happens there. I am sick and tired of everybody constantly bashing the show and misusing phrases you don't understand. TV has a formula, get over it. Stop whining over a tv show, stop watching, move on with your life. Stop acting like you've got Stockholm syndrome with Thomas.

  7. Pleased to see both of these actors joining the show. Kynman is a very versatile actor, and I've seen Michael Legge on stage in Treasure Island in the West End. He's a brilliant actor, with a strong Irish accent, and I hope he puts it to good use with Luke! :)
