Stephen Graham offers to narrate Thomas & Friends

Hollywood supporting actor Stephen Graham has revealed his wish to narrate Thomas & Friends.

The Liverpudlian is known for his roles in some of the biggest movies made such as The Damned United, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
Speaking with The Sun's showbiz editor Gordon Smart on his Xfm show, Graham voiced his intention to be a part of future episodes after fellow Liverpool born narrators Ringo Starr and Michael Angelis.

Maybe I could be the voice of the rock 'n' roll version? Down Tidmouth Sheds on the Island of Sodor when Gordon the Big Engine has had a few too many cans of Tennent's and starts some aggro with James.

Stephen himself starred with Angelis in the BBC's most recent acclaimed drama, Good Cop. Graham however was killed off in the first episode and appeared in subsequent stories through flashbacks.

  1. Why not? Michael Angelis is great, don't get me wrong, but maybe someone fresh wouldn't hurt

  2. They probably are going to look for new narrators, as it will fit with the whole "rebooting" process for Thomas: new head writer, new animation company, new writing style.

    1. I'm sure MA has a few good years ahead with Thomas & Friends, sure he sounds like he's getting old, but he still provides some great storytelling. But if HIT has intention to have someone fresh, it wouldn't hurt. After all, we all thought Pierce Brosnan was going to be the new storyteller until he was slated as 'Guest Storyteller'.

    2. I see your point. I think the US needs a new narrator, as Michael Brandon, in my opinion, was good in the beginning, but he's losing personality and energy. (I would love for Harrison Ford to narrate for the US, but...I know...THAT'S WAY OUT THERE! :P)

  3. Nonetheless, it would be nice to hear someone new and fresh... I mean, they are way overdue since they have lost a bit of their flair as of now... (and on a personal note, I was extremely p***ed that they returned in Season 12, since it was announced that they'd retire from narrating the series... Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed both of them back in the day, but announcing them they'd go, then getting them back at the last second just made me irritated on how they just change their minds at the last second as if they made a mistake... That turned out to be a bad sign in a way...).

Ok, ranting aside, I hope someone new comes in... New change of format would be nice with a new narrator to set the pace from the monotonous narration in the past couple of years (it would've been nice with Pierce Brosnan doing the honors, even when he said so himself on how he was excited to narrate this series)...

  4. Maybe trying to get Brosnan back would be a good idea for the UK series, and then Neil Moriessy or Marc Silk (current voice of Bob The Builder) for the US series. The voice cast needs to go in my opinion.
